Is it Time to Visit Costa Rica

February 8, 2026

I absolutely know this may be quite an unrealistic offer, but I wanted to share with you in case you can make it, and, in a way, to let you know what I’ve been working on – just ONE of the things I’ve been working on.

You know that I have been implementing my intensive study from the Integrative Psychiatry Institute.  I’ve been offering Ketamine treatment in my office for about a year now.  I’ve also been working with my good friend, nurse Julie Addis, to provide IV and IM Ketamine in her office, and we’ve hosted a couple of retreats together.  I’ve done some work with psilocybin – traveling to locations where it has been legalized or decriminalized to provide psychedelic assisted therapy – or to engage in it myself.  The results from this work have been spectacular, and I continue to look for new and innovative ways to offer this kind of work

Right now, I am working with local politicians and a National group to “Decriminalize Nature” so that we don’t have to travel great distances to do this work.  Until then, we will have to travel.

And that’s how this idea came to be.

I’ve partnered with several peers from IPI to put together a retreat opportunity in Costa Rica this spring.  It won’t be a true retreat – as we are going to review the location for future work, and we won’t be “on duty” through the week.  But we will be providing a few lectures in our respective areas – you can imagine how excited I am to talk about Logotherapy.  And then, for those of you who go, maybe we could schedule session on the beach!  I will be participating the the Cacao Ceremony and Hape Ceremony, and if you want, you can schedule an Ayahuasca Ceremony – although, that’s definitely a increase in cost and focus.  There are four ceremonies for Ayahuasca during your time there, so really, that would be the focus.

Have a look at the site my friend and psychedelic peer, Rob put together.  I’d love to know what you think, so feel free to email me about it!  – Dan
