“Happy” Holidays!

December 6, 2020

I’m sure I’ve shared this many times, but it strikes me as an obvious idea when it comes to having a “Happy” holiday season:

“Happiness cannot be pursued, it must ensue.  One must have a reason to ‘be happy’.  Once the reason is found, however, one becomes happy automatically.  As we see, a human being is not one in pursuit of happiness but rather in search of a reason to become happy, last but not least, through actualizing the potential meaning inherent and dormant in a given situation.”

Happiness does not come from “the perfect gift”.  Meaning isn’t found in material.

Happiness is found in meaning.

Meaning is found in experience, in creativity, and in choosing our attitude towards life, especially life’s difficulties.

You don’t have to buy the perfect gift.  Share an experience – share a creative experience – with those you love.  Share with them an attitude of joy, in the face of the difficulties we all face this holiday season.

Share meaning.
