The Existential Question : What Now?

August 19, 2024

Is it just me, or is everyone experiencing a bit of existential crisis these days?

I know it’s part of my work, and what I do.  But it feels like ‘everyone’ is feeling it these days.  I know that was a big part of our small group discussion in class yesterday: What are you worried about in our culture?  What do you find heartbreaking about the environment?  And questions of the like.  I think the sad thing was, we all had very quick and easy answers…

Fortunately, we also had HOPE.  I guess that’s what therapists do too, we hope for people to be better.  When people become better, families become better, then communities become better, then… well, I think you see where this could go.

So, today, in my return to the podcast, I share a bit of my existential crisis, and what i am doing about hope.  Hopefully, you find it meaningful.

In this episode of The Meaning Project, Dr. Dan reflects on his recent existential crisis and the future of his podcast. He shares his experiences from a meaningful trip to Europe and how it made him question his impact in the world. He discusses his work with Cardion, an app for mental health and wellness, and his studies in psychedelic-assisted therapy. Dr. Dan contemplates the current state of our culture and environment and the need for change. He asks for feedback from listeners on how he can best serve them and continue to bring mental health and meaning to their lives.
