Three days in to a new year – what have you done with it so far? What do you plan to do with the next 360+ days?
What is going to stop you from achieving those goals?
I’ll answer that for you – perfectionism, lack of discipline, lack of self-forgiveness, fear, avoidance, worry, doubt…. Those are just a few bits of resistance I’ve encountered in the past 48 hours. What about you?
For each one of those struggles, we can work to accomplishment, we can turn the setback into achievement. Or, as Seth Godin says below, we can just give up.
Either way, it’s a choice – moment by moment, setback to setback, accomplishment or achievement. We get to choose.
Choose meaningfully. – Dan
Might as well quit
There’s a better cause right around the corner. It might not work. You’ll never be able to keep all the promises. It can’t last forever. We’re all going to die. It’s not perfect. Someone might steal your idea. There will be critics. You’re not ready. Someone else is going to do it. It’s not that important. It might not work.
On the other hand…
Now is better than later, and perfect is an illusion.
Act as if. Simply begin. Make things better by making better things. You can always improve it later.
