What’s the Word for 2022?

December 26, 2021

Unbelievable…  The next time I write you, not only will it be next week, it will be NEXT YEAR!

And for many of us, that means thinking of some changes we want to make next year – some of you may even call them….. “resolutions” or “goals”, perhaps you have even been reading about “SMART goals.”  (If you haven’t heard of SMART goals, you can probably look at the past few years of posts around this time and find quite a bit.

I like to think of this time of year, of next year, as a chance to reset, rethink, and to consider how I want to impact next year, what I want to do with those 365 days I am given.

Rather than setting SMART goals, or coming up with resolutions, I’ve been talking to quite a few people about choosing a word, or a few words for you over-doers or overachievers out there (like me), that you want to focus on to define 2022.

What word, or words do you want to live by, to focus on for next year?

For me, I plan to focus on BALANCE, DISCIPLINE, SPEAK, and WRITE.

I was going to tell you all about what those words mean to me in 2022.  But instead, I’m going to use one – BALANCE.  And rather than working more while my family is all here around me, I’m going to re-assess my current BALANCE, and refocus on spending some time with them.  I’m going to do something, and I’ll tell you more about it later – next year.

Meanwhile, I’d love to know what words you will focus on – feel free to share over on social media, or you can email me direct.  And if you need any ideas or suggestions, be sure to check out the latest updates to The Meaning Project Podcast – all kinds of good info over there!.

Take care,

See you next year! – Dan
