When this is all over – when the world returns to “normal”, or the new normal it will be,
Who will you be?
Many of you may have just celebrated the holiday of Easter, a holiday of rebirth and resurrection – with a season of preparation and contemplation leading up to it. Are you any different now? Did you prepare and contemplate? Have you been reborn into something new?
Life constantly gives us opportunity to choose to grow, to stay stagnate, or to regress.
This unprecedented pandemic – unprecedented because of the technology with which we experience it, in my opinion – is a significant challenge for many of us. Will it change you? Has it changed you? Have you taken the time to consider change? If you are reading this, I want to encourage you to take a moment to consider the decisions you have made, and the ones you will continue to make as we move through this pandemic – be mindful of the fact that significant life events, especially those of a global magnitude, can have a significant impact on our lives. It is our choice how we are impacted.
Take care, stay healthy. – Dan
From Man’s Search for Meaning:
“The way in which a man accepts his fate and all the suffering it entails, the way in which he takes up his cross, gives him ample opportunity—even under the most difficult circumstances—to add a deeper meaning to his life.
It may remain brave, dignified and unselfish. Or in the bitter fight for self-preservation he may forget his human dignity and become no more than an animal.
Here lies the chance for a man either to make use of or to forgo the opportunities of attaining the moral values that a difficult situation may afford him.
And this decides whether he is worthy of his sufferings or not.”
